I’m 18, 5′3 and about 109 lb.
I’m becoming a vegetarian again after a 6-year sojourn.
I replace meat with lentils, tofu, iron-rich veggies (mushrooms, spinach etc) and eggs.
Will this make me lose weight? Most vegetarians I know are quite thin.
I don’t really eat much junk and only drink water, diet coke and herbal tea.
thanks :)

This is typically what i eat everyday…

9am- individual serving instant oatmeal
12pm- bowl of string beans
3pm- bowl of tomato soup
6:30pm- baked fish, brown rice, broccoli
the protein at dinner is always fish or chicken
starch is always brown rice, or red potato
vegi is always broccoli, brussel sprouts, peas, or spinach

I drink 2-3 cups of hot herbal green tea

I drink 8-12 glasses of water

I work out 30-45 min a day (usually hip hop abs or tabeo)
These things are done 5-6 days a week and i usually eat out 1-2 days a week, on the weekend and very cautiously.

Eating this way usually brings me to about 1000 calories a day give or take. I have a bad evening habit that causes me to snack at night bringing me to about 1300 calories a day. I’ve been doing this for about 9 weeks and i’ve seen results not sure how many lbs i’ve lost cause i refuse to get on a scale….

what do you think???
This may help im 26, 5′7" and when i started eating this way i was 190 lbs
Im dont get up till about 7:30 and i leave for work at 8:15. so I eat my oatmeal when I get to my office at 9

well im east indian from india and im a vegetarian ( meat and eggs aren’t cooked at my home. though i have them outside. not to be confused with vegan)
for breakfast:
i usually have some oat biscuits and boost as my stomachs really sensitive in morning and i feel weird if i have a heavy breakfast. i make eggs when no ones there at my home. sometimes i have idli ( which is basically a steamed dish made out of pulses. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Idli ) with coriander or sweet ginger dip
for lunch:
i have white rice with boiled lentils and spinach, one stir fried vegetable, coconut or eggplant chutney and mostly i eat this chutney made of special leaves called kenaf leaves http://www.hindu.com/mp/2005/10/08/stories/2005100800350300.htm
and this soup like thing made out of tamarind, garlic, curry leaves, oregano, tomatos and other spices which tastes sweet. i finish it up with a glass diluted yoghurt with mint and one fruit. we use little oil in our dishes. and i come from south where its rare we eat "curry". but we use lots of coconut and very little spices in our dishes

once a week i binge on chips. sometimes i have instant noodles or soup. i have 2 glasses of green tea with ginger and honey everyday

for dinner:
sometimes rice with a vegetable ( usually potato) and a bowl of yoghurt and a banana
and other times i have roti http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Roti with a vegetable dish, yoghurt and a banana
i usually eat out at subway on saturdays and have chinese or italian on sundays. its rare i eat out at mcdonalds or kfc. i usually stick to indian junk food. i eat meat once in fortnight
do i need to include anything else in my diet? your suggestions?
oh and btw. i don’t really work out or anything but i walk and run about a lot everyday. i am 5′9 tall and weigh 54 kgs and well toned i guess. was thinking of joining yoga classes near my home.
and its rare i eat chocolates or pastries. i hate desserts. but i love cheese and butter

i’m 17, 116 pounds (was 120 last week) and trying to go down to 110 pounds. (i’m only 5 feet tall, lol!)

i think i’ve been eating pretty good! i definately cut out all junk food and stuff! my old meals were like, chinese food with a large iced tea for lunch, than chicken cutlets french fries and cheese for dinner, and like two chocolate bars and two bags of chips for dessert (not even kidding. delicious, and i wasn’t even overweight. but i’m a little chubby now and i want to change that!)

SO ANYWAYS …………..

today i woke up late, 12:30 PM

around 1:30 PM i had a sandwich (two slices of bread, not a hero or anything, regular slices for toast), it was white bread =/ i ran out of wheat .. i had tuna fish, about half a can, with just a little bit of light mayo, cause i’m not a fan of mayo anyways. i put cheddar cheese slices =/ and some olives and lettuce on it, and ate it.
afterwards i ate a kiwi., around 2:30.

at 6:30, i had about a cup of spinach mixed with rice, it’s like a greek dish, i THINK it’s healthy for you…

and for dinner i’m gonna have chicken breast, probably grilled.. with corn on the cob and like a cup of mashed potatoes.

and for dessert i have a banana.

is this too much food? too many calories? i did about 100 crunches and i’m gonna walk about a mile or two later.

and is it okay if i eat ONION AND GARLIC WISE chips? it’s like not even 200 calories for the whole 50 cent bag. is it okay? or is it too many calories?

am i eating okay????

Ok, I see so many freaking advertisements, and I’m kinda tired of them.

"Wanna know how to lose weight, buy my book for 100 bux." It’s like… why?

I don’t exercise much, and I’m of average weight, I don’t do diets, I tend to eat whenever I’m hungry, I just have these love handle-ish things I don’t like. I don’t want to even attempting to do sit ups. Is there some type of standing exercise or activity I can do to keep that mid section fit… that doesn’t involve me wasting an hour, drinking/eating shit I don’t like, and getting sweaty and disgusting? I would usually swim, but I don’t have a pool, and im scared to mix relaxed hair with chlorine >_> SO yeah… any suggestions? I’m not looking to become a body builder, I’m looking to maintain my current figure till I die!!!

Oh yeah I don’t consume alcohol, don’t smoke, and my main drink of choice is iced tea. Sadly do eat pizza often/chinese food, I’ll probably need to cut that down a little, but I’m perfectly capable to make myself chicken and some spinach or whatever.

I am new with low carb and it has been 2 weeks or so since I am on this diet. Today I had one bunch of broccoli and a cup of spinach and one egg, does that affects my dieting plan? I mean because I had green stuffs?

more on my diet, for the last weeks, I had nothing but three eggs a day and green tea. I lose 12 in one week and a half. Then after i started getting really weak and expermenting changes, I broke the diet for one day after the first week and a half and had fruits, tuna, and dates. Then I started again on three eggs, but yesterday with chinese new year, I ordered chicken wing and other fishy stuffs, and there were so sauce and other stuffs that I added and back at home my taiwanese roommate made a lot of foods, so I had variety of cooked meat, egg and fish. Are those gonna affect my diet?
