I have horrible, cystic acne ridden skin. I started having acne when i was 9 years old and I am now 15. I have been to 8 very professional dermatologists but they all failed and kept pointing me to the next best one until i reached one of the best dermatologists in the country. But still, he failed. I have tried proactive and clearasil with horrific results. acne md, skin id, all the big products. they all made it worse. I’ve tried every kind of extreme acne treatment, every kind of medicine, and i eat no sugar or saturated fats, no greasy meat, nothing. I eat all organic and i constantly drink water all day and herbal tea with every meal. but last month i did the unthinkable and ate a slice of cake and after that my skin was complete hell for a week. I get plenty of vitamins and minerals and protien. change my pillow cases every night, clean my face twice a day, basically, i do everything right, but i just have to face the fact that i am doomed to a life of acne. My father is 58 and he still has acne. he has had it all his life starting around the same age my tragedy began. and my mother also had cystic acne. I don’t have many friends, and this is the reason why. No guy has ever liked me more than an acquaintance and I feel completely disgusting. People think i don’t take care of myself and that i chose this. People tend to avoid me. I also have had a countless number of strangers come up to me in places like walmart or the grocery store and tell me to do the public a favor and get rid of my acne. I think the worst time was when two adults and a guy most likely in his late teen years, all started hollering across the street and told me to put a bag over my head. I am currently trying organic masks and making my own moisturizers and organic acne treatments. It kind of worked, but still, not much of a difference in my appearance. I fear that I will never have a boyfriend and never marry. I want children, but again, i may never have a husband, and i wouldn’t want to bring them into the world, knowing what they may go through because of my mutated genes. Also, who would want to hire me? My chances of being successful are slim if i look like this. I dream of clear, smooth skin on my face just like everyone else. and i dream of no more physical and emotional pain. I usually don’t leave the house unless i have to. whenever i go out I always keep my head down, wear hoodies alot, and i always wear my hair down so i can use it to hide my face. when people look at me, they always have this intimidating look on their face, no one ever sees my eyes, or my hair, they only see my skin and before anyone can get to know me, they immediately decide i’m not friend material. I’m a very shy person and one of my biggest fears is talking to people and being judged by other people. I have thought about suicide a few times. I even tried to think of a plan. But it would be too devastating for my family. It would be extremely selfish and i wouldn’t be able to do it knowing my parents would have to go through the loss. I just don’t know what to do. My skin has taken everything away from me; my hope for the future, my friends, my dignity, my sanity, everything. Why is this happening to me? Where is there a way out besides death?
Already tried accutane for months. never worked
Also i tried proactive and it made my face 3 times worse. and i heard that from many other people too that it made theirs worse. I’m just so hopeless and I’m almost ready to give up since the chances are high that I’ll be just like my dad. I just need to find some way to try to accept it, but i’m just so depressed.

1 ) Since a year ago I’ve been drinking nothing but water, green tea and herbal tea. This is super healthy, right?
2 ) Is Iron and vitamin C the only foods you need to worry about COMBINING? Because I heard that you don’t need to combined foods to make complete proteins anymore. All you have to do is eat a variety of the amino acids found in different foods.

I’d like to start off by saying that I’m a fourteen-year-old girl. About a year ago, due to school troubles, I convinced my Mom to have me home-schooled for the year. Boy, did I choose the right time! One morning during that Summer, I woke up with extreme stomach pain, nausea, lack of energy and appetite, later I even ended up with diarrhea. Thinking I had the flu or some other sickness that would surely be gone in a week or two, I waited, but to no avail. I still feel the same, and–yep–it has nearly been a year since then. I’m quite lucky that I’m being home-schooled this year, because, otherwise, I wouldn’t be able to go through public school physically. Some days I wake up and I can barely get out of bed. However, this is more of an on-and-off thing. Sometimes I feel terrible for three days, then I feel almost completely better for two, and then I feel terrible again. (Not in that order, though. It’s completely random and can start/stop better or worse at any time.) The intensity of the pain and nausea also changes almost every day.
I HAVE done many treatments during this time period, including:
Traditional Chinese Medicine
Acupuncture
Homeopathic treatments
Liver cleanse
Parasite cleanse
Blood test and stool sample (both came back negative)
Not to mention all of the apparent quick-and-easy cures like drinking herbal tea, relaxation, drinking distilled water, etc. I have tried… it just feels like nothing is working! The doctors can’t even figure it out.
I am almost positive this has nothing to do with my eating habits, because it has not changed in the past couple of years. I am not lactose-intolerant or gluten-intolerant. No matter what I change with my diet, I still feel the same! Over the year, I have also taken some notes and have come to the conclusion that this is a physical thing, not a mental thing. But I think I’m about to go mad… I really, really can’t take this or live with this anymore. It’s ruining my life, I feel like I can’t do anything
and Summer is approaching once again.
Has anyone had anything like this before? Any suggestions? I apologize for the length of this question. Please help me!

I hate going to the gym, and while I still go on occasion, I was thinking about dancing for 1-1.5 hours a day while maintaining a healthy diet. I’m also thinking about cutting out all drinks except for water and herbal tea. I will also do some strength exercises a few days a week to keep my body toned. Any thoughts?

Hey Guys,
I have been over weight my whole life. I eat 900 calories a day, and exercise well regularly. I am 14 years old, 164cm tall, and I weigh 75kg. I wear a size 10-12 . I am a 12F cup. Natural, and i am not obese, I just have a chubby tummy and pudgy legs. My bust and hip measurements are 107cm each, and my waist is 80 cm. I have lost 17cm off my waist and I have lost 10kg in the past year. I eat plenty of vegetables and fish, I am a vegetarian. I also drink lots of herbal tea.I occasionally snack on biscuits or jam on toast, but I don’t eat that much. I have bowel problems too. i have seen a dietician, who is puzzeld as to why I can’t lose weight (meaning fat). I have also tried the acai berry diet. NOTHING WORKS. I do have low self esteem, but i am learning to accept my curvy figure. I don’t want to be small, I just want to be slim.
I really need some genuine advice for weight loss, any tricks and tips; It’s distressing me beyond belief! I want to make my stomach flat and my thighs slim.
Thanks!!
Thanks so much guys, I couldn’t choose a best answer, because they’re all really good.
I do have anxiety disorder and I have always had a pot belly (not humongus, just rounded :/)
Interesting answer about body weight capacity…hm, Thankyou for bringing some science into that.
ps) Tiempo B guy, I’m not a pear, I’m an hourglass, due to my measurements, I just carry weight on my thighs and stomach. Why did you send me a picture of a pear shaped woman?

I’m 18, 5′3 and about 109 lb.
I’m becoming a vegetarian again after a 6-year sojourn.
I replace meat with lentils, tofu, iron-rich veggies (mushrooms, spinach etc) and eggs.
Will this make me lose weight? Most vegetarians I know are quite thin.
I don’t really eat much junk and only drink water, diet coke and herbal tea.
thanks ![]()

please only answer the questions honestly & dont judge me . thanks so much for those of you who help out alot ! i reallly appreciate it .
current day & weight . ; May 14th . 155 pounds . only 5′3 tall .
goal ; June 1st . 135 – 145 pounds at least .
1. how long should i do the diet ? is ten days enough ?
2. the diet reccomends to drink herbal tea & saltwater after . does this mean after each glass you drink or once a day ? also, is salt water just water with like a bit of regular salt in it ? how do you make it & how much of that do you drink ? i heard salt is dangerous .
3. should i do excercise at all while one the detox ? like i usually go running in the park for a few big laps, dance, or get on the treadmill . is this okay or will it make me pass out ? & is there anything special i should do if i want to work out to help my metabolism .
4. after the detox, do you ease back into regular eating & then just continue a healthly lifestyle to maintain the finished weight ?
5. do you think it is possible for me to lose at least 10 pounds or get rid of all my water weight by june 1st. ?
6. in the recipe it requires maple syrup, lemon & a bit of cayenne pepper .
lemon – freshly squeezed or no ?
syrup – specific kind or no ?
cayenne pepper – can i just buy this in a spice section at a place like walmart in the little bottles ?
7. if you did the diet, did it work for you ? how much weight did you lose, & for how long did you do it ?
THANKS AGAIN SO MUCH !

D: i hate half of it. but i really wanna do this. any suggestions? i made some lemon ginger herbal tea a second ago and it is sitting now. but idk what else to do. any help and info would be appreciated ![]()

So, I’ve lost 1 stone/14lbs already (although it’s taken quite a long time to do this) and I’d still like to lose another 2 stone. I was considering taking on a vegan diet with a ‘cheat’ day where I can eat what I like. However, to have more variety in my diet I’m not going to do this. Instead, here is what I’m thinking:
Breakfast – 1 slice of wholemeal toast with marmite on and a banana OR a smoothie made of 1 banana, frozen berries and fruit juice
Lunch – A salad with balsamic vinegar on and some mixed nuts
Dinner – Chicken or steamed fish, brown rice or new potatoes and lots of veggies
For snacks, which I wouldn’t eat many anyway, nuts or fruit.
Drinks throughout the day would be black or herbal tea, water and fruit juice.
Then I’ll allow myself a treat once a day whether it’s a soda, a biscuit or a treatsized chocolate or something.
What do you think?
This diet is teamed with exercise 3 times a week and walking everyday.
I’m 17, 5′3, 164lbs/11stone10.
No need to judge, I understand I’m not skinny.

Hi There,
I’ve been following a low carb diet for almost 6 months, I’ve lost around 60 pounds till today which is great, but I am suffering from the normal side effect that accompany low carb diet, which is constipation !
At the start it was not an issue, only on the last 3 months it became really one, so I started slowly taking laxative Herbal tea that contains Senna around 2 to 3 times a week, which helped me "go", but now after reading about its side effects on the long term and how it may harm your colon I’ve decided to stop taking it.
I still need to lose around 20 pounds to reach my target weight, and I’ve decided to change my diet style and to include more Carbs and fruits in my diet and to increase the exercise level and of course to cut out laxative completely.
My question is, how can I reverse the side effects caused to my body due to using laxative tea ?, is changing the diet habit enough ?
Thanks,
Sam

My mom is on a diet and joined this program called herbalife and she wants the whole family to stay fit as well so she’s making me drink this nasty tasting concentrated herbal tea. It’s suppose to help with digestion or something. So anyone tried this tea? Does it work in anyway? I don’t mind drinking this horrible tasting tea everyday but I want to know if I’ll see any results or something and not a waist of money.

HERES THE DIET::
This is the complete Lemonade Diet including recipes. Proponents of the diet claim a person can lose anywhere from 10 to 20 pounds during the ten day diet period. Make sure you consult with your doctor before starting the Lemonade Diet.
The instructions for the lemonade diet are as follows:
1. Drink about 100 ounces of the lemonade per day.
2. Drink the salt water flush in the morning as soon as you wake up and drink the herbal laxative tea at night before bed.
3. You cannot eat anything while on the Lemonade Diet. You drink only the lemonade, the saltwater flush, and the herbal tea.
4. The Lemonade Diet is a cleansing and elimination diet, which claims to help rid the body of toxins along with helping you to lose weight fast.
Lemonade Diet Lemonade Recipe:
2 oz. of fresh squeezed lemon juice (must be fresh squeezed)
2 oz. of maple syrup (must be grade B, organic maple syrup)
1/4 of a teaspoon of cayenne pepper
2 cups of water (spring water or purified water)
Mix all ingredients well.
This makes approximately 20 ounces of lemonade, or two servings.
You will need to drink about 10 servings a day.
Salt Water Flush Recipe:
2 teaspoons salt
1 quart of water
Mix well. Allow at least 30 minutes after drinking before leaving the house. You’ll need to be near the bathroom.

Please don’t judge me. I am 5′3,vegan,have anxiety and panic disorder, almost 16 and 108 pounds. I want to be thin so badly that it hurts. I heard about the ABC diet and wanted to give it a try, please tell me if it works or not. What I ate today: Breakfast: tea, Lunch: coffee, Dinner: and and a half cups of brown rice with a home made stir-fry of teriyaki tofu, snap peas, broccoli, white onion, and scallions. I know that it’s a lot of sodium, so I am drinking a lot of water and decaf herbal tea right now. Link to ABC diet:http://www.whyeat.net/forum/threads/1131-Ana-Boot-Camp-(-ABC-Diet-)
Tell me what you think of it, or your results if you have tried it?
*one and a half cups brown rice

I know that may seem like a stupid question, but I’m completely serious. It says you’re supposed to live on cayenne pepper, water, freshly squeezed lemon juice, and herbal tea with laxatives. Just plain water is okay to drink while on the diet, correct? it doesn’t seem like it would do any harm.
well, no, i’m not a yo-yo dieter. This is the first one i’m trying, i’m very young and i have very obese. I have a lot of stored up energy and fats, so i’m thinking the process will take a while. I just want to see if it works within the first two weeks before i pursue anything. But thank you for your answer.

Hi everyone. I am a former anorexic and I am sick of worrying about what I eat on a constant basis.
I am 23, 5′3” and 112lbs. I exercise everyday on an incline treadmill for between 30 and 40 minutes, plus I lift 5lb weights and do sit ups and leg lunges every other day. So, I am pretty active for someone who sits at a desk at work all day.
Anyway, here is an exact day of what I eat. Obviously it changes day to day, but this is a good example of a day of eating for me.
Breakfast – 2 coffee’s with fat-free cream mixed with milk. Sometimes 1 Tbs sugar.
1 bagel with either peanut butter or melted cheese. (Today I had a thin bagel with 1 hashbrown in the middle)
Morning snack: 1 pudding or yogurt.
1 granola bar
1 mini orange
(Sometimes I’ll have baked chips as my snack at work and from time to time, regular chips, but only 1 serving)
Lunch: 2 rice cakes with peanut butter and nutella in the center (made as a sandwich)
Sometimes I’ll just have 2 cookies and some herbal tea instead of an actual lunch. On a lot of days, I will just snack throughout the day on rice cakes, baked chips and fat-free candy (Since I am so bored at work, lol)
Dinner: Usually healthy, example, tonight I’m having 1 serving of boiled non-fried noodles with vegetables cooked in olive oil and seasoning.
(Every so often, I will have fish and chips, the frozen kind from the grocery store and I only have a handful of fries and 1 serving of fish (since it’s the battered kind)
That’s usually it for my days. On certain days, I will treat myself to a chocolate bar, but I either skip lunch or exercise more on those days.
I don’t eat fast food often at all, like, maybe once every 10 weeks!
I don’t drink any juice or sugary drinks, I stick to water, herbal tea, coffee, diet soda.
Is this somewhat normal? I love junk, but I fear weight gain. I don’t eat all healthy foods, but I don’t overeat on fat and junk. I eat a lot of sugar and fat-free foods and exercise 7 days a week.
Will I maintain my weight like this? I am always afraid I am overeating and that’s why I can’t stay off my treadmill. On weekends, I do even more exercise and on days where I feel I have overeaten, I will exercise double-time. I can’t even sit still on Christmas Day! Not a day goes by I don’t exercise and I’m afraid that if one day passes and I am sedentary, I will gain weight.
Do I eat okay? Normal? Enough?
Today’s calories are about 1,360 and my BMR is about 1350-1400 a day, plus I exercise.
Though, sometimes I eat between 1600 and 1700 calories with exercise.
Thanks for all the help!

I went on a diet almost two years ago where i was eating 1500 calories a day and exercising between 30 minutes to an hour a day (mostly cardio, but also some yoga and a little bit of mild strength training). I drank water almost exclusively (aside from the occasional black coffee or herbal tea). After 3 months, I hadn’t lost but 5 pounds and gave up.
I didn’t try to lose weight again until a few months ago, when I started eating more vegetables and lots of turkey sandwiches instead of burgers. I lost a couple pounds over a few months, but many changes took place in my life and I have since had a change of lifestyle concerning food. I work two jobs and commute 30 minutes to work one of them and 2 hours when I visit my boyfriend. I have very limited time at home any given day of the week – mostly just to sleep – and I find myself eating a granola bar for breakfast, a lunchable for lunch, and fast food (if anything at all) for dinner, with snacks in between (though these are usually rice cakes). Needless to say, I have gained weight and am now looking to shed it. I feel as though counting calories could be effective for me, but perhaps I was choosing to eat the wrong foods. My availability to exercise now is much more limited, so I will be relying on dieting more heavily than before. My question to you is what are some good food options for someone like me? If you have a sample menu that’d be great. Thanks all!
If you have anything rude or inappropriate to say, I will report you.

I’m asking this question because I’m concerned about my girlfriend. She seems to live off milk and yogurt. If we go out for a meal she’ll have a salad or nothing. She does enjoy food but Shes concerned about her weight and shape (she’s not fat or bulky-she’s about 52kgs and about 5ft 5, therefore healthy bmi).
A normal breakfast for her is about 400-600mls of milk (skimmed) or a herbal tea. She may have part of my lunch, like a bite of a sandwich or the crust of a pizza- just something to take off the edge. But that’s about it food wise. She would then move on to milk for the rest of the day. She can consume about 4 litres of milk in 2 or 3 days. Occasionally if she’s feeling exceptionally hungry she will have a sandwich, or a salad, or tomato and onion soup, or some fruit. But most of the time these servings are similar to that of a desert or a starter. She has also recently started fasting every Saturday for religious reasons-which I don’t think would be good for someone with such a poor diet.
On top of all this, she likes to exercise every day. She always gets in stomach crunches, and various stretches and mild resistance exercise, and goes to the gym most days as well, where she will go on the bike and crosstrainer mainly.
The problem is that she wants to lose weight and she isn’t doing with the diet that she’s on, and with the exercise she’s doing, but I can’t understand why she’s not anorexic to be honest, nor can I explain anything about it to her. What sort of damage is she doing herself? She has low carbohydrate and low protein intake from what I can tell. She does admit that she has a problem and she knows that the way that she eats and thinks of food is wrong, but she doesn’t want to help herself. I know going to a doctor is the obvious solution, and she knows this too, but she never gets round to it. She has also admitted she may need to speak to a psychiatrist or something. Right now my main concern is what damage is she doing? Thanks for any advice I receive. Mark

Okay, I’m 14 years old, and i dance. ![]()
I’m 5′7 and weight 8st, 2lbs.
As you can see, i’m not skinny, but.. not that fat?

I think i am, but you all see me differently, but anyways, i’m quite self concious, my appetite has picked up as i take dance as a GCSE now and need food for engery, and the food i consume everyday is starting to show.
So, I’d like to firstly detox, perhaps.. just get all the bad stuff out my body and start over. I need to learn to say no to fatty snacks and replace them with fruit.
So, could ya’ll give me some advice, exercise routines, etc.
And simple things like to have instead of certain foods you eat everyday.. Like coffee to herbal tea.. or white bread to brown bread?
Thankss. ![]()

Breakfast- normal healthy breakfast like meusli, porridge, bran flakes, slice of toast, fruit and yoghurt, scrambled eggs on toast etc..
and a coffee
snack- fruit (e.g banana, apple, strawberries and raspberries, orange, pear etc..)
Lunch- Healthy lunch like a panini, sandwhich, veggie sausages with salad, tuna jacket potatoe, soup with a roll etc..
AND a cappacino medium from like starbucks, caffe nero, costa etc..
Snack- snack- fruit (e.g banana, apple, strawberries and raspberries, orange, pear etc..)
Dinner- Healthy dinner! Like pasta, noodles, chicken, fish with salad and potatoes etc..
I won’t eat after dinner
For drinks other than coffee (i’m an addict i usually have 4 but going to cut down to 2 a day!), I’ll just drink water as well as some herbal tea here and there
I will also walk as much as i can instead of bussing it or getting a lift from my mum.
Will I lose weight like this or am I eating too much still? I’m trying to lose weight, but don’t want to like starve myself as I’ve already tried this. Although I lost like a stone in a week, I’ve gained it all but trying to do it the healthy way. I don’t really know how to lose weight healthily though, thanks.
I’m worried I’m eating too much in order to lose weight?
