Okay, I’m 14 years old, and i dance. :)
I’m 5′7 and weight 8st, 2lbs.

As you can see, i’m not skinny, but.. not that fat?

http://s298.photobucket.com/albums/mm280/LuminousPink/?action=view&current=DSC07456.jpg
I think i am, but you all see me differently, but anyways, i’m quite self concious, my appetite has picked up as i take dance as a GCSE now and need food for engery, and the food i consume everyday is starting to show.

So, I’d like to firstly detox, perhaps.. just get all the bad stuff out my body and start over. I need to learn to say no to fatty snacks and replace them with fruit.

So, could ya’ll give me some advice, exercise routines, etc.

And simple things like to have instead of certain foods you eat everyday.. Like coffee to herbal tea.. or white bread to brown bread?

Thankss. :)

Breakfast- normal healthy breakfast like meusli, porridge, bran flakes, slice of toast, fruit and yoghurt, scrambled eggs on toast etc..
and a coffee

snack- fruit (e.g banana, apple, strawberries and raspberries, orange, pear etc..)

Lunch- Healthy lunch like a panini, sandwhich, veggie sausages with salad, tuna jacket potatoe, soup with a roll etc..
AND a cappacino medium from like starbucks, caffe nero, costa etc..

Snack- snack- fruit (e.g banana, apple, strawberries and raspberries, orange, pear etc..)

Dinner- Healthy dinner! Like pasta, noodles, chicken, fish with salad and potatoes etc..

I won’t eat after dinner
For drinks other than coffee (i’m an addict i usually have 4 but going to cut down to 2 a day!), I’ll just drink water as well as some herbal tea here and there

I will also walk as much as i can instead of bussing it or getting a lift from my mum.

Will I lose weight like this or am I eating too much still? I’m trying to lose weight, but don’t want to like starve myself as I’ve already tried this. Although I lost like a stone in a week, I’ve gained it all but trying to do it the healthy way. I don’t really know how to lose weight healthily though, thanks.

I’m worried I’m eating too much in order to lose weight?

“You wanna hear something funny?”

Kelly Anderson took a dainty bite out of a deformed potato chip. Her thick bangs were tossled over the side of her left eye, and a plump pimple was in the making near the bottom of her chin.

“Only if it’s really funny.” Angela Gorasco murmured as she gripped the cap of her routine Green Tea Snapple bottle. She held the bottle firmly as she twisted at the plastic blue cap. When it didn’t open, she promptly handed the bottle over to Jordan Taylor.

Kelly flashed a pasty grin followed by a nice turn up of her middle finger.

“I wanna hear.” Jordan said in a mock baby whining voice, while he popped off the Snapple cap and lifted the bottle to his mouth.

Angela’s eyes widened in horror. She lunged across the table and swiped at the drink in Jordan’s hands.

“Do you guys know Mr. Kwan?” Kelly asked lowering her voice and narrowing her eyes at the members of the table.

Jordan jerked his body away from Angela and splatters of tea stained his navy blue sweat shorts.

“That creepy Chinese guy with the scar under his eye?” Jordan asked, as Angela let out an awkward whimper.

“Goddarnit, Jordan!” she shrieked.

“Not all Asians are from China, retard.” Matt Woodard spouted off matter-of-factly as he lifted up his unopened coke can and offered it to Angela.

“No, thank you.” Angela muttered bitterly, combing her fingers through her ash blonde hair and returning to her chair.

“Hey…hey.” Jordan raised the Snapple bottle in Matt’s direction. “My brother has down syndrome…I take offense to that word.”

“Yea…he’s Korean.” Kelly’s voice trailed off as she placed another potato chip into her mouth.

“What, you only drink diet sodas?” Matt asked, his face drooping with rejection.

“You have a brother, Jordan?” Taylor Pickler chimed in as she tilted her head to the side, letting her tight curls fall to the side of her face.

“No…I prefer Pepsi.” Angela said, leaning down to pull her Burberry purse off the ground. She placed it in her lap and pulled out a piece of tissue from a pink plastic packaging.

“No.” Jordan replied, before breaking into a guttural laugh.

Angela grabbed a plastic fork out of her lunch box. She took the tissue and rubbed it lightly along the sides of the fork.

“Anyways.” Kelly said bringing down her fist so that it made a light thud on the table. “He smokes weed.”

“Classic.” Jordan said taking another swig of tea from the bottle.

“What a shining example for us, students, huh?” Taylor murmured as she uncovered the foil top of her yogurt.

“Gross.” Angela said, churning her lips in disgust. “Who really smokes weed anymore?”

For some odd reason the table fell silent…and I felt it was my cue to speak.

“Everybody smokes weed….where have you been?” I twitched my lips into a smile, as every single head at the table rose from its original position to turn in my direction.

Just wondering ;)
Honest answers please =D

I hear that herbal tea isn’t always natural and your body can become dependent on it like some drug. Apparently when you stop using it your metabolism becomes much slower and it could lead to death. I know it sounds ridiculous to say the least but I don’t want to become dependent on it and I don’t know what to believe.

Hi All,

I’m about 177cm tall usually a thin build (not anymore) and it seems that my metabolism is catching up to me.. straight to my butt and thighs…and the most depressing my tummy! ;( (I’ve always had a flat tummy… not anymore!!) and it was bound to happen since I LOVE junk food eg Hungry Jacks, McDonalds, chinese, all that stuff..

So it’s been two days into this "eating right" schedule and im starving!! (but i havent been eating crap for 2 days!) my diet comprises of:

- lean meats (mostly fish)
- veggies (baked mushrooms and others)
- Celery with Hummus dip (snack)
- Three bean mix (washed and drained)
- Oats (in the morning)
- Tea ( with low fat milk)
- 2litres of water a day

and 30 mins of treadmill exercise (running and power-walking) a night – 5 days a week

Will these MASSIVE changes take effect and help me lose weight?

I hope all of these sacrifices I’m making will work !!
amy_27, I’m positive it’s emotional hunger.. when I’m angry I get very hungry!

I will get over it.. thanks for your advice guys :)

I’ve had eczema on my hands and arms for almost 6 years now. I’ve tried a billion different things: Lotions, creams, diets, herbal teas, doctor prescribed eczema creams.. but none of them seemed to work. So for the past year, I completely lost hope and did nothing at all to try to get rid it. To my surprise, my eczema slowly disappeared! It was almost all gone, until just last week when it came back again. I didn’t do anything different, it just came back on its own. Now it’s worse than it’s ever been! Why is that?

Also, the places on my skin where the eczema is happens to be a lot lighter than my skin is, which makes it stand out that much more. It’s quite embarrassing. Is there any way to fix that?

Basically i really really need to lose weight. I was thinking of having:

breakfast- muesli with some semi skimmed milk and coffee with semi skimmed milk

evening- herbal tea

no snacks and just water to drink. Maybe I’ll have one small cappacino in a coffee shop when I go out every now and again!
lunch- bowl of fruit and a cup of tea with skimmed milk
(example of fruit bowl: apple, banana and a plum)
dinner- whatever my mum cooks me for dinner, I’ll have to eat it all but it’s usually healthy

This is what i found you do for 7 days.

1 head cabbage, shredded or chopped
2 large onions, chopped
16-28 ounces canned tomatoes, chopped
2 green peppers
4 stalks celery
1-2 packages Lipton onion soup mix, or any dry onion soup mix (optional)
black pepper
any fresh herb(s) of your choice, chopped
6 carrots, sliced
1/2 pound green beans, sliced on diagonal
1/2 cup balsamic vinegar (optional)
Put all vegetables in a big pot and cover with water. Bring to a boil, stir in the soup mix (if desired), and boil gently for 10 minutes. Cover, reduce heat, and simmer until all the vegetables are soft. Stir in the black pepper and chopped herbs (saving some for garnish).
Eat as much of the soup as you like, as often as you like. Drink as much water as you like and non-caloric drinks including coffee, tea, and herbal teas.

Here’s what else you can eat, and when:

DAY 1: All fruits except bananas.

DAY 2: All vegetables, raw or cooked. This includes baked potato with a LITTLE butter.

DAY 3: Fruits and vegetables, but no potatoes or bananas.

DAY 4: Bananas and skim milk–eat as many as 8 bananas and drink as many as 8 glasses of skim milk.

DAY 5: Beef, skinless chicken, and/or fish–as much as 20 ounces, total. You can also eat 6 tomatoes. And you must drink 8 glasses of water. Don’t forget at least one bowl of soup.

DAY 6: Beef, skinless chicken, or fish and vegetables. Drink 8 glasses of water and eat at least one bowl of soup.

DAY 7: Brown rice, vegetables, and unsweetened fruit juice
Has anybody been on it and have you lost weight?

First off, I am not fat. I wouldn’t use this word to describe anyone of my size. I am 5′4.5", 130 lbs, and a size 4-6. I’m not skinny, that’s for sure, but I believe I am a healthy, average, normal, American Caucasian, 19 year old girl.
I don’t over eat, I don’t eat much meat, dairy, or white carbs. I don’t indulge myself in junk food, but I do enjoy a sweet every now and then.
I admit I could be a lot more active, but I wouldn’t say I am a completely lazy and sits on my ass all day. I am usually out and about doing something.
I do enjoy tennis, swimming, bike riding, etc… but getting up for a run every morning or reps just ins’t my cup of tea.
I used to be extremely skinny while growing up. People used to call me peanut, bean, stringbean, toothpick, etc. They told me I needed to put some muscle on my bones. It all changed when I turned 16, went on birth control, and well…. grew up.

My boyfriend of 6 months, is 24, Chinese(I find this important to point out, because it is common knowledge, that asians tend to be leaner), and in decent shape. He works out when he finds time, and really cares a lot about his physical appearance and health. He doesn’t however have the healthiest diet, but he also doesn’t pig out(non-asian cuisine).

When I met him I was the same size I am now. Less than 2 months into the relationship he started making comments about my weight, that made me feel really insecure about myself. He never went about it the right way, and always ended up digging himself a bigger ditch. He insists he finds me sexy, but tells me if I lost weight, our sex life would improve(it is however… amazing). He complains that I am lazy and doesn’t understand why I wouldn’t want to change for him if I liked him so much. I know guys are very visual, but I am not any different from when he met me. If he preferred skinnier girls, why didn’t he go for them?

I’m not saying I won’t lose weight, and I’m not saying he is completely wrong for wanting me at my best… but he makes me feel like a fat ugly loser. Sometimes to the point where I actually cry, but he doesn’t even see what’s wrong. If I want to lose weight, I want to do it for myself, not him. I like the way I am now, and I don’t want him to pressure me so much to be smaller.

How should I confront him with my feelings? He doesn’t understand me when I say "I want to change for myself, not you".
I don’t want tips on losing weight. I’m quite happy the way I am. Thanks, but no thanks.
