I have epilepsy, so there’s a bunch of stuff I’m not allowed to eat. I can’t have aspartame (so no diet soda, chewing gum, etc.), or MSG (so no Chinese food or other processed foods)…not that anybody should eat these things anyway! I also can’t have caffeine (no soda, tea, or coffee for me). Also one of the side effects of my medicine is that it makes soda taste horrible so I can’t even drink the caffeine free kind. My neurologist didn’t tell me these things, I had to find them all out on my own through research. What I was wondering is if there’s any other "bad things" that epileptics shouldn’t have that anybody out there knew about. Sorry if I seem so lame, I’m just trying to be healthy so I don’t have a seizure, I’m really sensitive to everything! Thanks in advance.

I take my birth control pill every night at 8pm, and I want to do the Master Cleanse/Lemonade Diet for 7 days, but I don’t want to worry about pregnancy. I know that I need to drink a cup of herbal laxative tea each morning and at night, and I don’t want it to interfere with the pill. Please answer if you know. :)

I have been doing this diet for 4 days now and lost 8 lbs and i really do plan on continuing it, but i just decided to lay it out here and see what u guys thing…. it’s the slimfast 3 2 1 plan and here is how i "tweek" it so to speak:

Breakfast: a healthy shake smoothie… i put in vanilla soymilk, a scoop of sllimfast strawberry powder, a tsp of flaxseed, a handful of frozen fruits (usually mixed berries..sometimes peaches)

Midmorning snack: an apple

Lunch: a slimfast meal bar

Midafternoon snack: a yogurt

Dinner: either a lean cuizine or…..a skinless chicken breast, with frozen veggies and olive oil…. PLUS, no matter what I have for supper, I also add a dark leafy green salad and dark grapes to the meal

Evening snack: 1 c. fatfree popcorn

Bedtime: a cup of hot herbal tea

Plus… i drink 6 to 8 glasses of water a day (i also have diet coke too)
AND i exercise 45 minutes a day.

Let me know what im doing right AND what im doing wrong. and thank u so much for taking the time to help!

I have been dieting and exercising for two weeks now.

I’ve added veggies to my diet, I cut down soda to an occasional minimum (and thats only to ween myself off it even more) and I’ve been eating breakfast.

I eat cereal with Yogurt and a glass of V8 Fusion

Salad for Lunch with cheese and light dressing (thousand island, and to the serving size) with some crystal light – cherry drink.

Dinner is normal, whatever my mom cooks and I don’t overeat it either.

For a snack I have another yogurt or something small

If I go out to eat (mostly chinese) I mostly eat sushi and have ice tea, no sugar. but I never overeat.

I was a 155 pounds 2 weeks ago. I went down to 151 but now I’m 153. I excercise daily (either at work, where I am never sitting down or with Dance Dance Revolution since its all I have)

Any ideas why I’m not losing like I should? Anything I should be doing differently?

You can see my other questions for details on the whole issue I’ve been having with my kitten. Bottom line he went to the vet already for a week and came back worse, so don’t tell me to "go to the vet". I’ve been there, done that and it didn’t work. The kitten has chronic diarrhea, stool samples were clean, no infection, I took him off the antibiotics and laxative(figure that one out why did a vet give a kitten with diarrhea laxative?). When I got him back from the vet he was lethargic, disoriented, and basically ill. Before that he just had diarrhea, now I’m nursing him back to health. I’ve found that every time after he eats he bloats, so I’ve started feeding him less, more often. I am keeping him on the a/d diet from the vet but I’ve also put him back on the bottle with diluted KMR. So far so good.. he is bloating less and is showing some improvement. My question is this.. I looked into herbal remedies and I’ve started giving him about 2cc of herbal tea per feeding. Straight Chamomile, Catnip and Peppermint. All are good for stomach ailments as well as colic and bloat. So far it seems to be helping.. but I’d like any advice about this I can get. Since the vet meds didn’t help and in fact made him worse, this is my only other option. There is no infection or disease the vet could find. So any herbs that you can recommend to treat the symptoms would be great along with dosage, effects and risks. I’m doing all I can to help this kitten and so far he HAS improved. I will not take him back to that vet as I was not satisfied with the results. So I need ideas on alternative treatments.. anything will be considered. Please share all you know! His symptoms are.. Bloating after feeding, diarrhea, and failure to thrive. He is 6 weeks old and his siblings are way ahead of him weight, development everything. He was 1lb now he is only .6lbs after being with the vet. The vet dewormed him, vaccinated him, x-rayed him and tested stool samples.. all were clean they say.
I am feeding him the wet a/d diet from the vet, and KMR diluted and mixed with 1cc of Yogurt, and 2cc of the herbal tea. He is better than when I got him back 2 days ago.. much better.
Ken.. acidophilus is in the yogurt, I’ve researched the herbs and all are safe for use in pets. I also researched the dosage. I also mentioned his age is 6 weeks. I’m not looking for someone to tell me not to do what seems to be working for him, I’m looking for more information on herbal remedies safe for use in cats and relevant or useful as treatment for his ailment.
Well they mentioned the possibility of a shunt, but I can’t do anything about that until I get him in to the other vet. I will request an ultrasound, they wanted to take blood but he’s too small for that. Either way if he has a shunt he has to get bigger before he can have surgery to repair it, if they can’t repair it then I’m not certain there is any alternative way to treat it.

I am 26 yrs. old. I am 5′4, my measurements are 46-43-46 and weight approx. 200 lbs. My average weight would always be about 135-140. I was physically active those days though. I eat alot of rice, fried vegetables, canned veggies, potatoes, and fresh meats such as chicken, pork, ground beef and beef everyday, I drink Good Host Ice tea, about 2 large glasses a day, and on the weekend, I drink alot of beer, about 10-12, and then the rest of the weekend, i eat take out food such as MCd;s < Kentucky, chinese and dont do much. I know the only thing to do is excercise and try to eat healthier and smaller portions, anyone ever go through this and have a rough time getting back into shape, I seriously need advice from someone who has struggled with their weigh, Im not just going to go pump iron for an hour or bike up a hill for an hour, Whatr is a good way to start a diet, i no, i just cant quit junk food cold turkey either. can i just replace my sugar drinks with water first and lose 10 pound

I started drinking Japanese green tea with roasted rice called genmaicha just for the taste and to keep warm during the winter season. I liked the taste of it and I knew that drinking too much coffee would be bad for me.

Throughout my whole life I’ve been struggling with belly fat although I was super skinny everywhere else, I was like a man with a beer gut.

I started drinking about 5-15 cups a day and I shrank around 5 inches off my waist without diet or exercise in about a month and even during the feast from Christmas.

I’ve also been trying many different facial creams to combat aging. One that costs up to 100$. It worked slightly but after drinking the Green Tea for around a month, my skin looks 10 years younger and all the lines disappeared literally. My friend told me that my face is glowing and very even. She’s very envious.

I’ve also been struggling with ups and downs. I would get depressed easily but ever since drinking green tea I’ve been happy and stable.

I look easily under 19 now although I’m nearing 28 all because I’ve been drinking Genmaicha from Japan. I believe that’s how many Japanese people stay young and thin.

I thought I should share this with everyone. Has anyone else seen these effects as well?

I’ve been drinking close to 5-15 cups a day. Genmaicha has the least amount of caffeine in all non herbal teas.
viva_la_semona: You should talk to your doctor first. I don’t think it’s harmful, it’s a health drink, nothing bad comes from it but caffeine. Genmaicha has hardly any caffeine but make sure you talk to your parents and doctor before you start drinking tons. A cup a day shouldn’t hurt, it’s less caffeine than coke. But at your age, you shouldn’t be concerned about losing weight. You’re body is still in development and if you do stuff unnaturally to lose weight, you might develop wrong and in turn have a harder time with losing weight once you’re an adult.

hey(:

im 14, 5′3 and 115 pounds
and thats pretty fat for a 5′3 girl.

so anyway…about 3 weeks ago i lost 15 pounds in a week.

heres what i did.

drink green tea (yes from the chinese store) in the morning
eat an apple at 2pm
eat a kiwi at 5pm
drink green tea till i go to bed.
and excerise
and no eating after 6pm..

so after a hel of a week i lost 15 pounds.
it was hard..i kept seeing all black and felt like fainting all the time..i was very weak..couldnt do anything..

so after that week i had to go to camp with the youth from my church.
and so i went.
they gave out a LOT of good food..i couldnt stand itt..so i ate..
and at campfire i ate too!

so then when i got home i checked how much i weigh..
108. i couldnt believe it! in 4 days!
so then i didnt go on a diet..i still ate..
now i still weigh 115 pounds..so yup i put all that weight back in 4 weeks..
now i realized what a mistake i made..how stupid i was…
the best thing is to NOT get FAT in the first place..
eat only 3 times a day and stay the same weight…
its better than to starve like that..

i learned that being healthy is more important..

and dont starve yourself like that bcuz then when u eat again..u start eating everything bcuz u missed all the glorious food..

Starting tomorrow I’m going on the MC diet for 14 days
I was just wondering a few things:

I have only 2 days worth of tea laxatives and herbal tea – can I drink that? Or does it HAVE to be tea laxatives?
I don’t have organic syrup – will that effect anything?
How much weight did you lose on the MC and how long did you do it for?
What was the first meal you had after you finished the cleanse and how long did you wait to eat that?
What should I do after the 14 days as of eating…wait a day or two?

TIA
(and please no rudeness – i really am not doing this soley to lose weight – so please – if you can’t answer my questions then don’t say anything at all)
