I am caucasian, born and raised in America, but all of the things I enjoy eating most come from Japan or somewhere Eastern. I eat:

sushi (I could LIVE on it)
miso soup
won ton soup
hot and sour soup
toasted seaweed
Japanese canned fish
salmon and broccoli with Unagi sauce all over it
soy beans
bbq eel
potstickers
Vietnamese Pho soup
chinese chicken salad
Mochi (japanese ice cream)
Rice pudding popsickles (i get them from the Asian market…?)
Thai teas
Mongolian BBQ

I don’t really eat much else besides these but the things I DO eat besides this are the things that contribute to my 5 extra pounds. I’d like to just eat Eastern dishes as a method of being healthier and thinner.

Any ideas for some more items to put on this list?

Any tips on how to prevent constipation while on the Atkins diet? I see that Benefiber and Metamucil have 4-6g of carbs! What about herbal tea?

Hi im 26yrs – male and Im trying to get rid of my pot belly or beer belly.
First off – about 1 1/2 yrs ago I was 5′10 and 120lbs
Was a smoker, Was a moderate Drinker (mostly liquor)

I had issues gaining weight and found a diet that now has put me at 155lbs.
Now before I tone myself – I notice though I now have this fat belly which bothers me alot. I am still "skinny" by everybody standard but im disgusted with the belly inflation.

I was eating tons of dairy product, primarily yogurt and milkshakes.

Now since Jan 1st I changed my diet and started eating healthy food
=========
Breakfast: either or combination of
whole grain fiber cereal with fat milk
fat milk + strawberry, blueberry and banana milkshake

Drinks: Orange, apple, cherry, or mixed fruit juices when @ home
Drinks: water, tea, gatorade @ work

lunch: subway ft long wheat bread + gatorade or burger + fries and tea or chinese food + water

dinner: thai curry, indian curry, chinese food w/ side of veggies or broccoli, soup, sushi, rice + chicken/goat/lamb/beef (non fry)+ beans

once a week – big porterhouse or sirlion w/ veg side + salad or
non fried fish + soup

snacks – nuts, milkshake, rye bread + ham/roast beef/munster cheese/ mayo & mustard

1-2 times a week I will treat myself to – Stouffer microwavable food (stuffed pepper) (lasagna) (pasta food) or ravioli
ramen noodle soup

I dont really drink beers – only on fridays 2-3 w/ liquorx3
I quit cigs

supplement – fish oil pills x2 a day
multi vitamins x1 a day
vitamin c x1 a day

==========

is curry good or bad – I eat all types of indian/thai curries but have no idea on the health issues of curries.

I try to excersize – mostly jumping jacks for 20 mins but it’s like once a week I tend to do it. What can I do to lose the belly fat only without losing the other areas? I notice my legs got a bit bigger – no longer chicken legs and I love it the way it is now and my chest a tad big. I want to keep all of that so I can tone them but the belly…arrghghh

sorry for the long post and thx in advance
let me know if anything im eating I should take out (beside the burger which im slowly cutting back from)

Here’s my daily routine:

Breakfast:
Oatmeal with a handful of raisins and peanuts, plus one banana. (made with water; not milk)

Lunch:
Lettuce salad with raisins, peanuts, one lemon, two boiled eggs and olive oil dressing

Diner:
Brown rice with lentils or beans

I also take one multi-vitamin, omega-3 capsules, and a calcium supplement. I drink herbal tea and water throughout the day. I work out for 30-40 mins. per day.

Is there any foods I should be eating which would lead to a more regular, steady, and even metabolism? Just the other week my mood was different on every other day. I feel like I need some foods which would calm me down; keep me less jittery – something which would slow my metabolism. Any ideas?

(I tried Lithium and Lamictal, but, unfortunately, they failed)

Thanks for your help!

It’s 2 AM, I’m bloated, got a massive headache, my eyes are so puffy I can barely keep them open, and I can’t sleep – but I feel physically exhausted.

I ate some Kung Pao Chicken earlier today from Panda Express, and I know Chinese food is high in sodium. I actually didn’t even eat that much of it but I figured they probably cook with soy sauce, which contains massive sodium in a single teaspoon.

I drank some Arizona Diet Green Tea afterward because I know Vitamin C is a diuretic, and I think it helped a little. But just before bed, I drank some more water and then I felt even more bloated! Does drinking more water after excess sodium intake worsen the symptoms?

Anyways, I know this type of bloating is only temporary but I just wanted to know for future reference what the best solution would be?

Here is everything I am taking: Milk Thistle, CLA, Multi-Vitamin, Herbal Regularity Laxatives, Omega 3 Fish Oils, Green Tea Extract with Hoodia, and a Cleansing Fiber Blend. Couldn’t I technically just be eating foods with these amounts? My medical study says I can’t take herbal supplements but I don’t know if they would test if I am taking them. Would it disturb any of my blood levels? Thanks.

goal: to find what foods trigger my acne
full diet: Yes:lots of water, meat, veggies, fruit (except citrus), herbal/decaf tea, eggs, bread, olive oil
No: enriched/refined flour, trans fats, dairy, coffee, white potatoes, pizza, sugar/candy
Sometimes: dark chocolate, decaf coffee, honey, butter, heavy cream, almonds
Should I go on the full diet all at once? Or remove one aspect from my diet (such as dairy products) and see how things go?
henry, you are so fake.

Hello! Tradicionally, Chinese considered using forks and knives at the table barbaric, because they were considered weapons. It was also impolite to have guests work to cut their own food. Also in China, meat, oil, and sugar are luxuries not consumed regularly by a majority of the population. Only the rich are able to have these in their diets. Because of this, the spread of Western fast-food restaurant chains such as McDonald’s and Kentucky Fried Chicken is bringing obesity to richer families. Although some Chinese food has incorporated Western tastes, most aspects of Chinese cuisine are still passed down generation to generation, untouched. Today I’ve brought Chinese tea leaf eggs. They are made using just hard-boiled eggs, green tea, and soy sauce.

Haha this is very weird out of context, but I appreciate any replies!

A friend of mine is on a diet, and she recently started to take Dr. Ming’s diet tea.
http://shops.godaddy.com/FOURTH-RIVER-OC-CORP/DR-MING-S-CHINESE-HERBAL-REDUCER-TEA-TE-CHINO-DEL-DOCTOR-MING/
She showed me the box, and I was surprised because the face on the box looked very familiar for me, as a Japanese. The face of "Dr. Ming" looks very similar to Yukichi Fukuzawa, on 10,000-yen bill in Japan! He is Japanese (not Chinese) and he has nothing to do with Chinese herbal medicine.

Does anyone know who Dr. Ming is? Is he a famous Chinese doctor of herbal medicine?

Well, I’m 5’47 and 116 pounds. I already have my fixed fiber diet, gym exercises, cardio and jogging stuff. I want to loose 6 pounds or at least get 6-packed and instead have bigger breasts within a month (I can’t have hormone pills, I’m sensitive, I’m 21) I hate sweets and actually sweet or salty things so I never have them, I just love that 90% chocolates. I barely drink soda or have French fries; I even drink herbal tea like green tea and fennel water to avoid bloating because I eat a lot of fiber. To be perfectly honest with you I want to tattoo the upper part of my body and specially my tummy for my graduation party, and knowing that I’m a hairdresser and make up professional too, I’ve got to be Num1.Some say smoking for a while will hydrate my body and ill loose a couple of pounds non-permanently, some say yoga will help, and yesterday I just read that 200 sit-ups per day will cause 6-pack in 1 month but I really don’t have time for 200 sit ups a day!! I’m a working girl.Thanks.

I recently lost 9 pounds eating nothing but warm salads, cereal and fruit. I’m trying to enjoy life and maintain my weight (maybe drop a pound of so every week, but I’m not the that bothered) but what I’m eating now just seems bad compared to what I used to. I’m 5.3 and 137.

Here’s my food diary for the past 3 days.

DAY ONE-
Special K cereal.
Tea with semi skimmed milk and sweeteners.
Apple.
Breakaway 99 calories chocolate bar.
Cheese salad with chicken and dressing.
Two tangerines.
Chinese takeout – chow mein and rice.

DAY TWO.
Special K.
Tea (As before)
Two tangerines.
Breakaway bar.
Cheese and sundried tomato sandwich on malted bread.
Apple.
Fizzy water.
Small portion of re-heated chinese from day before.
Easter biscuit and tea.

TODAY-
Low GI Toast.
Tea.
Two little chocolate biscuits.
Apple.
Roast chicken with potato and veggies.
Cadbury’s Creme Egg.
and later on I’m going to have a light supper of crackers and cheese.

I go to the gym once and week and do a spinning class once a week.

How am I doing?
I’ve eaten a big cooked dinner, I don’t want a large meal full of nutrients later.

I wouldn’t call it HORRIBLE. I’m hardly downing milkshakes and frying everything that goes in my mouth.

I also drink 5 large glasses of water a day.

I’ve been on the full detox program for 8 days, but now I’m starting to feel extreamly cold and I"m starting to hate the detox drink. So I started drinkng orange juice as well. The diet says you may have a glass of herbal tea of orange juice a day, But today I had alot more than that. Do you think It will slow down my detox?

For thoughs of you who don’t know On the diet you have two liters of water mixed with lemon juice, tree surup and cayne peper.

Only 4 weeks til I go to Cancun and I am stressing big time. I have cut my calories down big time. This is more difficult than getting off drugs!! I had no idea how much I enjoyed food. I have been eating fruit in the morning and salad and chicken. No bread until today and it was wheat.
Anyone know how to melt away pounds fast? Like there supposed to be this ancient Chinese tea….
there is also something called the sacred heart diet. Has anyone heard of it and if so does it work?
